Sometimes we have to close our eyes to open our minds. I like the early part of the poem where you describe the process of reaching 'openness'. Many will reach the same conclusion as your poem but lose their way as open eyes lead back to closed minds.
You make me think of why people are determined to associate themselves with a belief, cause (any thing really) and then become unshakeable in that conviction. So many of us pick a side and never think or question ever again.
